Description:
Foundations of Democracy consists of four sets of curricular materials for students in grades K-2, 3-5, 6-9, and 10-12. Developed by the Center for Civic Education, the materials focus on four core concepts fundamental to an understanding of politics and government: authority, privacy, responsibility, and justice. Features of the curriculum are intellectual tools that help students analyze issues related to each concept and interactive teaching strategies. High school, middle school, and upper elementary materials include student texts and teacher’s guides; primary materials include “Big Books,” activity books, CD-ROMs, and a teacher’s guide.
