and global studies for a variety of educational organizations, including the Center for Teaching International Relations at the University of Denver, the Colorado Department of Education, the Program for Teaching East Asia at the University of Colorado.  She received her B.A. from Michigan State University and an M.A. in education with a cognate in International Studies from the University of Colorado.

A baseball fanatic (currently reading Baseball Haiku) with deep roots connecting her to the Detroit Tigers, Jackie also enjoys international travel, especially visiting her niece and nephews scattered throughout the world.  An aspiring cocktail pianist, her fifteen minutes of fame came when her eighth-grade students gave her the opportunity to play Nordstrom’s Steinway on her 50th birthday.
